Parkinson’s disease is one of the most common neurological disorders in the United States, affecting nearly 1 million people. In this study, researchers say that the endocannabinoid system plays a vital role in Parkinson’s disease, noting that aspects of the EC system “are highly expressed in the neural circuit of basal ganglia, which is part of a complex neuronal system.”
